After choosing a major in computer science, a student is assigned an advisor by the Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS). The student works in collaboration with the advisor to ensure that all departmental and University requirements are met. Advisors also provide students with information about graduate school and employment, and they direct students to University resources that provide further assistance in these areas.
Students who declare a second major in computer science are encouraged to contact the DUS for an academic advisor in computer science. Although the advisor in the primary major is responsible for course approval, the computer science advisor can offer valuable guidance about course work and future plans.
