I am an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Duke University. My primary research interest lies in the area of database and information systems. I received my M.S., Ph.D. from Stanford University and B.A. from University of California, Berkeley. Here is my curriculum vitae.

I co-direct the Duke Database Research Group, which is part of the Duke Systems and Architecture Group. We also participate in the larger Carolina Database Research Group.

My research has been supported by National Science Foundation, National Institute of Health, Duke University, and IBM. More details about my research projects can be found on my research group page.

  • ProSem (URL): scalable and stateful publish/subscribe unifying data processing and dissemination.
  • Derived data maintenance (URL): designing and maintaining derived data to facilitate access to base data, with applications in views, semistructured data, and continuous queries.

I am the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) for the Department of Computer Science. My DGS office hours are Fridays 4-5pm.
