The Cluster Lab is funded by grants from the National Science Foundation (RI and ARI), Duke University, IBM, Intel Corporation, Network Appliance, Cisco, and Myricom. The lab hosts several related projects involving high-speed networking, network I/O, and cooperative information sharing.
In July 1999 the National Science Foundation awarded the Duke Computer Science Department a five-year Research Infrastructure award for Data-Intensive Computing with Spatial Models, a collaboration involving the Cluster Lab and researchers in algorithms and scientific computing.
