SPIDER 2/25/98
I had posted earlier that we'll be discussing the paper
"The Effects of Latency and Occupancy in Distributed Shared Memory
Multiprocessors".
Because we won't be having SPIDER meetings once the faculty candidates'
visits begin, the plan has changed.
We'll be discussing the papers of two faculty search candidates:-
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"WebOS: Operating System Services For Wide Area Applications," Amin
Vahdat**, Paul Eastham, Chad
Yoshikawa, Eshwar Belani, Thomas Anderson, David Culler, and Michael
Dahlin. December 1997.
Technical Report UCB CSD-97-938
Extensible Security Architectures for Java
Dan S. Wallach**, Dirk Balfanz, Drew Dean, and Edward W. Felten,
16th Symposium on Operating Systems Principles (Saint-Malo, France),
pp. 116-128, October 1997.
** faculty candidates.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I've kept five copies of these papers in the closet. The person taking
the last copy has to make five more copies.
