Form groups of two persons. You may not work alone!
You should start this activity by introducing yourself to the other person.
There are three parts to this activity:
- Write a set of instructions that will allow someone to reproduce a given
drawing.
- Using the set of instructions, produce the figure described.
- Discuss ways to produce better instructions.
At this point, you should be reasonably comfortable giving precise, unambiguous
directions. In this exercise, you will put that to the test by asking another
group to exactly reproduce a hidden drawing. Your first task is to write down
a set of directions that will allow someone else who has not seen the drawing to
reproduce it exactly. Next, try to follow someone else's directions. Finally, we
will discuss how to improve your instructions.
