Class begin on Monday, 8/28 in 229 SocSci.
The format of this class.
Most classes will consist of a short lecture (20-30 minutes) followed by students working on the lab computers. Lectures and Labs "run together".

We will setup consulting hours and office hours, they will be posted on the CompSci 6 web page.
You can also post questions on the course bulletin board. Please try to be explicit as possible (Having trouble setting up your computer, please tell us what type of computer, operating system, etc...). If you are shy and want to post your questions anonymously, then don't login and your post will be from "guest"

Course Description:

Design and implementation of programs to solve problems in Computer Science, Engineering, and Natural Sciences. Object-oriented programming using Java, analysis of programs and algorithms, reading, modifying, and designing classes, data structures including arrays, sets, and maps. Intended as an introduction for majors and those interested in programming and Computer Science with applications in the sciences.

Required Background:

This is a course for Computer Science majors or those who want to gain more experience with programming. The course assumes experience with programming using variables, conditionals, loops, functions, and collections (lists, arrays). Additionally, students should have familiarity with the material covered in Mathematics 31 (or take it concurrently with this course).
