The purpose of this assignment is for you to create a course web page where you will link to some work you do in this course. We also need to know where your web page is located.
These parts must be done in order! (Part 1 first, then Part 2).
You should create a course web page in your public_html/compsci4 folder in your Duke OIT account if you have not already done so.
You should already have created this folder in class. This is where you put your html classwork.
To create the content for your web page, you can use Notepad and write in hypertext markup language, HTML, or if you know a tool to create web page such as Dreamweaver, you are free to use it.
Your course page must contain at least the following information:
For more help on creating a web page, see the links from the last class.
Your autobiography should attempt to answer the following questions:
You can decide whether or not you want to put your email address on your web page. There are web crawlers that look for email addresses on web pages and then send spam to them. If you put your email address on a web page, then you should disguise it in some way.
If your user id is abc123 then you don't want to list it as abc123@duke.edu, but rather as abc123 AT duke.edu. You can also disguise it by putting it in a graphic image as Prof. Rodger does on her web page.
YOU MUST DO THIS PART AFTER YOU HAVE DONE PART 1.
Send an email note with the info below to the TA Rishi (rvt AT cs.duke.edu), but not until you have done Part 1!
INFO TO SEND: Send the location of your web page created in Part 1.
Your message MUST HAVE THE SUBJECT: CompSci 4: ASSIGN 2: (your name here)
Your FIRST and LAST name must be on the subject line (no nicknames!).
For example, Prof. Rodger would send her message with the subject line
CompSci 4: ASSIGN 2: Susan Rodger
