A recent CACM article on Building Rome in a day outlines a system to reconstruct the three-dimensional shape of famous buildings from tourist pictures harvested from the web. That effort embodies most of what is known about image analysis for visual reconstruction, and this course explores enough computer vision to fully appreciate that article.

The class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:05 to 11:20 AM in room 228 of the Gray Building (the building on your right when you face the main entrance to the Duke Chapel). There will be lectures, class discussion, homework, and a project.
