Assignment #7

This Alice world is a combination of an interactive story as well as a game. The world is partially based on the character/storlyine from the "Saw" horror film series. The story portion is based on the fraternity scene at Duke, presenting a new fraternity member "Scotty." The basis of the story is that Scotty must go through certain tasks/play certain games to prove whether or not he has the ability to be a "Frat Star." The Saw character gives directions on how to play several games (usually by clicking on a certain object in order for an event to occur and a method be called). It begins with the character from Saw giving Scotty directions and progresses from there into 3 different scenes presenting Scotty with various tasks. The first task is based on Beirut, where Scotty must get a pong ball into one of the cups before the timer runs down. The next scene is a play on a night out at Parizades, where an array of girls is presented and Scotty must try to use witty pickup lines to impress girls. Finally, Scotty is with 2 pledgemasters from his fraternity and must try to impress them by doing a few tricks (i.e. riding on a chesire cat, etc). In the first and third scenes, click events allow the user to choose what happens - in the second scene, the array is already set up to have a certain outcome. Finally, the user of the story/game is allowed to choose whether or not Scotty is a true Frat Star by clicking on either Zeus or a chicken (who each represent either a "win" or a "lose" and say different things accordingly in response to the click).

This is a view of the second scene of the world, where the pong ball game takes place - we see the instructions listed once again by Saw.

This image displays what happens in scene 3 of the story - we are in the middle of using an invisible array visualization and object visualization to present different girls to Scotty, who feeds them one-liners.

This final image displays Scotty donning a beautiful male ballerina outfit while riding a chesire cat in hopes of impressing the two pledgemasters (aka wizards) who stand before him.
