BROOKWOOD INN: If you are staying at the hotel, you need to either walk, or ask the hotel to give you a ride on their shuttle.
Walking from Brookwood Inn:
If you don't want to walk, the Brookwood Inn Courtesy shuttle can bring
you. Let them know ahead of time. If you walk it is a 10 minute
walk.
Walk out and head straight to Duke North
Hospital (NOT the VA hospital). Go in the main entrance
and walk straight all the way through the hospital to the elevators.
Follow the hallway to the right, it curves around and then goes straight.
At the end of the hallway, go out the door to the walkway.
At this point, if the door is not blocked you can walk down the stairs
and head to the LSRC building (follow the red arrows).
If the door is blocked, then continue with the green arrows to go around.
Walk along the walkway until you see on your right
the building with the Blue Awning that says "Medical Center Store".
Take the next right off the walkway. You will walk past the Medical
Center Store and down this road. You will pass the Bryan Research center
on your right and come to a stop sign. Turn right and head down this road.
The LSRC building is to your left on the other side of the road.
Cross the road to the LSRC building.
Go in the first door.
COMMUTERS who need Parking:
For those local people not staying at the hotel. You will park in the
big gated parking lot off of LaSalle street. From Erwin Road, turn onto LaSalle St
toward Duke. The big parking lot will be on your right. You need a
parking permit to get into the lot. TO PICK UP PARKING PASS: Drive down LaSalle. Turn left at the
stop sign. Then Turn right at the circle and take the next right
(between the North Building and the LSRC building. Drive down to the circle
and turn around, then head back to pickup your parking pass. Someone
will be standing on the sidewalk between the North Building and the LSRC
building shown on the map below. Once you get your hangtag, put it on your
rearview mirror and drive back to the big lot on LaSalle to park.
You can keep the pass for the workshop. We may have to collect them at the
end of the second week and then pass them out again for the third week.

Head down I-40 West to Durham. Take 147 North. Take the Hillandale St
Exit and turn left onto Hillandale. At the stop light, turn right onto
Erwin Road. At the second stop light, turn left onto Lasalle St. and
follow the parking instructions above.
From I-85 Virgina:

From the Brookwood Inn:
Go out and head toward Duke Hospital. At the stop light
facing Duke Hospital, turn right onto Erwin Road. Go straight.
At the second stop light. Turn left onto LaSalle. See parking

Head down I-40 West to Durham. Take 147 North. Take the Elba St exit
15A.
Continue on Elba Street to Brookwood Inn.
Head down I-85 south to Durham. Take 15-501 South Exit. Take 147 South.
Take the Hillendale Rd exit. Bear right onto the Fulton St ramp. Bear Right
on Fulton St. Turn left at Elba St.
Head down I-85 north to Durham.
Take 15-501 South Exit. Take 147 South.
Take the Hillendale Rd exit. Bear right onto the Fulton St ramp. Bear Right
on Fulton St. Turn left at Elba St.
Driving Directions to LSRC Building
Head down I-85 south to Durham. Take 15-501 South Exit. Take the Moreene
Road exit. Turing left onto Moreene Road. Then turn left at the first
stoplight onto Campus Walk Ave (Middleton St). At the stop sign,
turn right onto LaSalle St. Lasalle will cross Erwin
Road. Then follow directions to parking.
Head down I-85 north to Durham.
Take 15-501 South Exit.
Take the Moreene
Road exit. Turing left onto Moreene Road. Then turn left at the first
stoplight onto Campus Walk Ave (Middleton St). At the stop sign,
turn right onto LaSalle St. Lasalle will cross Erwin
Road. Then follow directions to parking.
Take 15-501 toward Duke University. Take the exit for 751
and turn right. At the next stop light, turn left onto Erwin Road.
At the second stop light, turn right onto Lasalle. See parking instructions
above.
Walking from the parking lot to LSRC D106
Continue down Lasalle to the stop sign. Turn left and enter the small parking lot on your right. You will go down the stairs. The LSRC building is in front of you. It is a huge building. You need to walk to the left a bit and then you will see the circle where you turned around to get your parking pass. Continue down the side walk to where you picked up your parking pass. Turn right and go down the stairs. Then turn left to go into the building. The workshop is in the LSRC D-wing, room LSRC D106
