This is logistics for teachers attending a 2011 workshop.
The Brookwood Inn is an affordable hotel just off of Duke's campus near the Duke Hospital that we have used for several workshops that is a short walk to the Computer Science Building where the workshop will be held.Rooms have been reserved for the workshops in June/July 2011. We are paying for your room as long as you room with another teacher. For the two-week workshop rooms are reserved from Sunday through Friday each week for 5 nights, Sunday, July 10- Friday July 15 and Sunday, July 17-Friday July 22. You should park your car at the Brookwood. Parking passes are only for commuters. From the Brookwood you can either walk or take the Brookwood shuttle.
You do not need to make a reservation since we are paying for your room. We have already reserved the rooms. You should have received an email from Brook Osborne (rbo AT cs.duke.edu) about your roommate.
All workshops will be held in the Levine Science Research Center (LSRC) Room D106 at Duke University, from 9am-4pm each day. Come earlier for breakfast, 8:30am-9am. The address of the building is 450 Research Drive, Durham, NC 27708.
NOTE: Parking passes for those commuting will be handed out starting one hour before the first day of the workshop. Please allow at least 20 minutes to pick up your parking pass, drive to the parking lot and walk back to the building. If you are staying at the Brookwood, you can park there for free and either walk or take the shuttle.
Breakfast and Lunch are included with the workshop. Here are restaurant suggestions for dinner. If you are staying at the Brookwood, breakfast may be included there (depends on how many rooms are sold).
