Workshop Schedule July 11-15, July 18-22, 2011

The two-week Beginner Alice workshop will be held from 9am-4pm in LSRC D106 and includes lunch and snacks. There is no charge for the workshop.

Please see the logistics page for directions, parking passes, and housing at the Brookwood Inn. Housing is provided at the Brookwood Inn if you share a room with another teacher. We recommend the Brookwood as we have gotten a low rate, and it is in walking distance of the workshop (or take the shuttle).

    • Pictures form a story - you put pictures in order and narrate the story. Here the pictures are in a list, you can replace those pictures with other pictures. Order the images (examples page)

    • There was not a handout for this tutorial. Here is the Alice world we built: Penguin Eat Fish world
    • I wrote up a tutorial. However, the penguin object has some issues when you use the extra methods someone built. The penguin may get shorter and fatter as the animation is running. So instead of using the penguin, I wrote a tutorial on a bunny eating broccoli. We teach the bunny to hop and to eat broccoli. Here is the handout. This tutorial has been added to the tutorial page if you want the world or other files.
