Logistics for both of our workshops in Summer 2016

Lodging

The Brookwood Inn is an affordable hotel just off of Duke's campus near the Duke Hospital that we have used for several workshops that is a short walk to the Computer Science Building where the workshop will be held.

We will reserve the hotel rooms for the workshops in June/July 2016. We are paying for your room as long as you room with another teacher. If you want your own room, you will pay the first week (first five days) and we will pay the second week (but we will still reserve the room in your name). For the two-week June workshop rooms are reserved starting Sunday June 19 through Thursday June 30 unless you specified you did not need Saturday night, or specified you did not need the night before the workshop starts. For the 2-day June Followup workshop June 14-15, rooms are reserved from Monday through Wednesday. If you are staying at the Brookwood, then you have to park your car at the Brookwood. Parking passes are only for commuters. We have to pay extra for the parking passes. From the Brookwood you can either walk or take the Brookwood shuttle.

  • Rate: $89/night plus tax [Note: If you share a room, we will pay for the hotel room. The rate is here for those who want their own room.] (This is the 2016 rate)
  • Phone: 1-800-716-6401
  • Address: 2306 Elba Street, Durham NC 27705
  • website is brookwoodinn.com

You do not need to make a reservation since we are paying for your room. We will reserve the rooms. You should have received an email from one of us on May 27.
