After church and spending time with my friends, I did something that I usually try not to do: work on a Sunday. But I've had a hard time finishing up tutorials during the week with the kids camp going. I made a powerpoint tutorial for list and BDE. Then I converted them to webpages. After Professor Rodger looks over them, I'll make slides/handouts. I worked for about five hours. I also made a memory game :o).
This morning is the first day of the second kids camp. We have 20 kids! And not as many teachers. Ruthie and Jenna made it through their tutorials pretty quickly. The kids made storyboards and started working on their worlds. I'd say it's going pretty well so far. There seem to be more older kids this week. I made a tutorial about how to add billboards from paint or powerpoint
This morning, Gaetjens went through the kangaroo visit tutorial. I showed my memoryGame to professor Rodger. I'm going to show it to the teachers tomorrow. After we walked through the gardens,I showed the students the list tutorial. Then once we had lunch, they all worked on their own worlds. The worlds that I've seen so far are coming together quite nicely.
I showed the teachers the BDE tutorial. Then when I went down stairs, I showed the kids how to do it as well. Then we went to cameron. When we got back, I showed them the memory game. At lunch today, Martin talked about his research. I didn't fully get all of the details because I was late. It sounds like a subtle way to have the public carry around tracking devices, lol. The kids worked on their worlds and a few of them demonstrated them. Only two more days! Wow.
This morning, Henry and Gaetjens went through some tutorials. We took the kids to the chapel and the textbook store. I'm working to update my tutorials. We helped the kids make worlds for the rest of the day. Professor Rodger experiments with adding pictures of her self as the face of Alice characters.
This morning, the kids took the post test. Once again, they all commented on why the survey said so much about whether or not womenwere any good at computer science. We took the kids on a walk to wilson and watched part of a track meet. After lunch, we finished up helping the kids with their worlds. It was a great day. So hard to believe the four weeks of teacher and student workshops has come to a close. A great time. I think the project is going to be a success in the longrun.
