FYI, Panel
- Is the pace of change in first year courses changing more rapidly today
than 20-25 years ago?
- Are exogenous factors such as the used-book market
forcing second and third editions of texts in the span of two to five
years or do pedagogy and language changes happen so rapidly that new
courses and materials are required?
- Should we embrace rapid change or
work on fundamentals that should remain the same regardless of the
change?
- Is object-orientedness a profound change on the order of a
Kuhn-ian paradigm shift requiring rethinking and innovation or are
incremental changes in courses and books sufficient?
