The server housing share and /usr/xtmp is experiencing problems. We are working to resolve them, and have temporarily moved the share server to another host. The /usr/xtmp filesystem is still offline until a resolution is found.
We have restored /usr/xtmp to service, and moved the share server back to original host. Please contact the Lab staff if you continue to experience problems.
It appears that this server is still experiencing issues. We will have to open a call to the vendor tomorrow. In the meantime, /usr/xtmp may be slightly unstable, but no data should be lost. We have moved the share server to another location.
The motherboard of the server has been replaced; hopefully this will solve the intermittant problems we are having with the machine. We will continue to monitor the machine, and if users experience a problem, please contact the Lab staff.
The issue has reoccurred. We will continue to monitor the machine, and will be contacting the vendor again.
The server has been patched. Hopefully this will solve the problem.
There will be a brief downtime for share tomorrow at 4:45am. It should last no more than 5 minutes. This is part of an ongoing effort to track down a software issue causing intermittent outages.
The server is still experiencing issues, users should be aware the connectivity to the SAMBA service can occur. We are monitoring the situation and will restore service as quickly as possible when an outage occurs.
After a long period of no issues (and much patching), the issue has reoccurred. An addtional patch recently made available is being tried.
Replaced the system controller on the machine.
