Duke CS VPN
Users wishing to gain access to department printers and filesystems from their personal
machines from outside the CS network may utilize the Duke CS VPN to do so. Please follow the
instructions below.
Install the Duke VPN
To install the Duke VPN, please log into
portal.duke.edu.
You will need to select Computer Science as the department, and log in with your netid and password.
After downloading and installing the client, you can authenticate in order to access the CS VPN. You
will then be able to get access to filesystems and printers as you do when connected to the departmental
network. You can access your files using a windows machine by utilizing
samba, or
AFP if using a mac. For more information on the Duke VPN, please see
