D231 Sharp MX-M565N Copier Setup for Windows

The copiers have recently been replaced by Sharp MX-M565N copiers. Update your drivers using the latest Sharp MX-M565N drivers.

Windows 8/8.1

Installing the copier printer drivers:

  1. Download the Windows Sharp MX-565N driver from www.sharpusa.com. Extract the driver files and note the location.
  2. Open Start → Control Panel → Devices and Printers → Add Printer
    This brings up the Add Printer Wizard
  3. Select Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer
  4. Windows will search the network for available printers and list them as they are discovered. Find the printer named MX-M565N (SHARP) and double-click on it.
  5. If the driver is not installed, you will be prompted for one. Use the one you downloaded from www.sharpusa.com.
  6. You will be prompted to rename the printer, enable sharing and set the printer as the default system printer. It is recommended that you do not share the printer.

Configuring the printer driver:

  1. Go to the Printer Properties of the printer: Start → Control Panel → Devices and Printers {right click on the name of the printer} → Printer properties
  2. On the Configuration tab, manually set:
    • Input Tray Options: Large Capacity Desk
    • Large Capacity Tray:
    • Output Tray Options: Finisher
    • Punch Module: 3 Hole
    • check the "Data Security Kit" box
  3. Customize your print jobs and settings on the General tab under Preferences.
