D231 Sharp MX-M550N Copier Setup for Windows

Download the appropriate Sharp MX-550N PCL5 driver for your OS at www.sharpusa.com. Extract the driver files and note the location.
In the Add Printer Wizard, select a Local Printer. Uncheck the Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer option. Press Next.
Create a new port: Type: Standard TCP/IP Port. Enter the Printer Name: pr167 (or 152.3.140.167)
When you are prompted to select the manufacturer and model, select Have Disk. Browse to the location that you extracted the printer drivers. You are looking for a .INF file.
Select the Sharp MX-550N PCL. Printer Name: D231 (or whatever you want).
Select "Do not Share this printer."
Click Finish.

Go to the Properties of the printer: Start → Printers → {right click on D231} → Properties
On the Configuration tab, Select the Auto Configuration button. If this fails to get the device status, manually add the AR-LC6 Large Capacity Tray and the Finisher under Output Tray Options. Click Apply. See box below:
