D332 Sharp MX-M550N Copier Setup for Windows

Windows 7

Installing the copier printer drivers:

  1. Download the Windows 7 Sharp MX-550N PCL6 driver from www.sharpusa.com. Extract the driver files and note the location.
  2. Open Start → Control Panel → Devices and Printers → Add Printer
    This brings up the Add Printer Wizard
  3. Select Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer
  4. Windows will search the network for available printers and list them as they are discovered. Find the printer named MX-M550N (SHARP) 152.3.140.152 and double-click on it.
  5. If the driver is not installed, you will be prompted for one. Use the one you downloaded from www.sharpusa.com.
  6. You will be prompted to rename the printer, enable sharing and set the printer as the default system printer. It is recommended that you do not share the printer.

Configuring the printer driver:

  1. Go to the Properties of the printer: Start → Control Panel → Devices and Printers {right click on the name of the printer} → Printer properties
  2. On the Device Settings tab, manually set:
    • Output Tray Options: Finisher
    • Output Tray Options: Punch Module AR-PN4B
  3. Customize your print jobs and settings on the General tab under Preferences.

Windows XP

Installing the copier printer drivers:

  1. Download the appropriate Sharp MX-550N PCL5 driver for your OS at www.sharpusa.com. Extract the driver files and note the location.
  2. In the Add Printer Wizard, select a Local Printer. Uncheck the Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer option. Press Next.
  3. Create a new port: Type: Standard TCP/IP Port. Enter the Printer Name: pr152 (or 152.3.140.152)
  4. When you are prompted to select the manufacturer and model, select Have Disk. Browse to the location that you extracted the printer drivers. You are looking for a .INF file.
  5. Select the Sharp MX-550N PCL. Printer Name: D332 (or whatever you want).
  6. Select "Do not Share this printer."
  7. Click Finish.

Configuring the printer driver:

  1. Go to the Properties of the printer: Start → Printers → {right click on D332} → Properties
  2. On the Configuration tab, Select the Auto Configuration button. If this fails to get the device status, manually add the Finisher under the Output Tray Options box. Also add Punch Module AR-PN4B. Click Apply. See box below:
