W32.Mimail.A@mm Virus Alert
There is an email worm currently spreading which purports to come from email@example.com or perhaps firstname.lastname@example.org, which claims to contain information about your account's expiration. It contains an attachment, which if opened attempts to exploit certain vulnerabilites in most versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system. This worm is refered to as W32.Mimail.A@mm.
This message is not from the CS Lab staff and should be deleted. It should be noted that the address email@example.com is an alias for the department administrative assistants, not the lab staff. In addition the lab staff never sends informational messages regarding account management as attachments. Finally, the lab account maintenance messages are sent from the account firstname.lastname@example.org, with the subject "Your Duke C.S. UNIX account will close". They include a long, detailed body of text, with NO* attachment.
