Directions to Research Dr. from RDU Airport, Raleigh & Points East Via I-40 West:

  1. Via I-40 West: Exit onto the Durham Freeway (N.C. 147).
  2. Take 147 to the Fulton/Hillandale exit #15B.
  3. Turn Left at the exit light onto Fulton.
  4. Follow Fulton and take a Right at the second light onto Erwin Road.
  5. Turn Right onto Erwin Road. At first traffic light, turn Left onto Research Dr.
  6. Follow traffic circle.
  7. Take the first Right and follow the driveway to the visitor’s parking gate.

Directions to Research Drive from Greensboro and Points West:

  1. Via I-85 North: Exit onto NC 147 (Durham Freeway).
  2. Take 1st exit off Durham Freeway onto 15-501 S. toward Chapel Hill.
  3. Stay in Right lane, and take second exit (#107) onto N.C. 751.
  4. Turn Left onto N.C. 751 S., go under the highway, and take next Left onto Erwin Road.
  5. At third traffic light, take a Right onto Research Drive.
  6. Follow traffic circle.
  7. Take the first Right and follow the driveway to the visitor’s parking gate.

Directions to Research Drive from Richmond and Points North:

  1. Via I-85 South: In Durham, take the Left-lane exit (#147B) for US 15-501 S. Bypass- Duke University/Chapel Hill.
  2. Continue on U.S. 15-501 to the fourth exit (#107) a Right-lane exit for N.C. 751.
  3. Turn Left onto N.C. 751 S., go under the highway, and take the next Left onto Erwin Road.
  4. At third traffic light, take a Right onto Research Drive.
  5. Follow traffic circle.
  6. Take the first Right and follow the driveway to the visitor’s parking gate.

Directions to Research Drive from Chapel Hill Via US. 15-501 North:

  1. Via US 15-501 North. Take 15-501 North marked Duke Univ./Med Ctr. *Do not take 15-501 Business.
  2. Take N.C. 751 exit (#107) marked Duke University West Campus.
  3. Turn Right onto N.C. 751 (Cameron Blvd.), make the next Left turn onto Erwin Rd.
  4. At the 3rd traffic light, take a Right onto Research Drive.
  5. Follow traffic circle.
  6. Take the first Right and follow the driveway to the visitor’s parking gat

Directions to LSRC from The Washington Duke Inn:

  1. Go straight onto Science Drive.
  2. At the first light take a Left onto Towerview Drive.
  3. At the four-way stop sign take a Right onto Circuit Drive.
  4. Follow Circuit around the right to the traffic circle at Research Drive.
  5. Yield Right onto Research Drive.
  6. Take the first Right and follow the driveway to the visitor’s parking gate.

Directions to Visitor Gate: (for parking reservations please call 660-6500)

  1. Proceed down Research Drive and go halfway around the traffic circle, so as to remain on Research Drive.
  2. Take your first Right after the traffic circle in between the North Building and the LSRC.
  3. Follow the driveway to the visitors gate.To enter the lot, press the black button on the keypad to get a dial tone, and then press 8 and one of our staff will answer. Let them know whom you are here to visit and they will buzz the gate. If no one answers, please hang up and press 5 to reach The School of the Environment.
  4. Please park in your assigned spot. It is half way down on your Right after entering the gate. Be sure to display your hang tag on your mirror. The Department of Computer Science is located in the Levine Science Research Center (LSRC), the large beige building and the parking lot is on the side of it.
  5. Walk straight towards the building and we are the last entrance of the building closest to Research Drive. The Department of Computer Science occupies all three floors of the D-wing of the building.
