	Richard Lucic and Robert Duvall Teach iOS Project Management Course You might say the Department of Computer Science has found the right app for teaching students software development skills. The new mobile applications course — to be offered for the third time this fall — has proven to be popular with students and potential clients. more »
	Shivnath Babu Promoted to Associate Professor The department announces the promotion of Shivnath Babu to associate professor. Babu is a member of the Systems and Architecture faculty. His research group focuses on making the analysis of massive amounts of data easy, fast and cost-effective. more »
	Undergraduate Research Poster Day Computer science undergraduates presented research projects April 13 during the second annual Computer Science Undergraduate Research Poster Day. Daphne Ezer, a Marshall scholar and CS undergraduate research fellow, was selected to receive “Best Poster” recognition for her project. more »
	Ugrad Alum Profiles: Sophia Cui, Jian Wei Gan, Trevor Reid You might call them hip, young and dangerous as Professor Owen Astrachan does. But one thing’s certain: These Duke graduates enjoy working at a startup. Sophia Cui, Jian Wei Gan and Trevor Reid graduated in spring 2011 and began working for TellApart. more »
	Xiaowei Yang Promoted to Associate Professor The department announces the promotion of Xiaowei Yang to associate professor. Yang is a member of the Systems and Architecture faculty. Her research focus in networking includes Internet security, routing, resource allocation and data center networking. more »
	TechConnect 2012 Spring The spring session of TechConnect, in its third year now, had its best showing with 25 companies and about 250 computer science and engineering students attending the biannual networking event. The event provides companies that have technical interests with priority access to students. more »
	New Chair's and Grants Assistant: Sarah Bingham The Department is pleased to welcome Sarah Bingham as our new Chair’s & Grants Assistant. Sarah brings us a wealth of academic administrative experience having spent ten years in several roles at Harvard University. more »
	New Research Grants and Contracts Staff Assistant: Michelle R-Judd In February Michelle R-Judd joined the Department as a Grants Assistant. Her efforts in this new position add much needed capacity in the Department’s research administration office, especially in the post-award area. more »
	In Memoriam: Professor Gershon Kedem Gershon Kedem died on Wednesday, June 6, as a result of complications related to a bone marrow transplant. Gershon was born in 1946 and has been a computer science professor at Duke University since 1984. more »
