Staff News - CS Welcomes Sarah Bingham
Chair's & Grants Assistant
The Department is pleased to welcome Sarah Bingham as our new Chair’s & Grants Assistant. Sarah brings us a wealth of academic administrative experience having spent ten years in several roles at Harvard University, including Assistant Director of the student counselling and academic resource center. Her sponsored projects administration, data analysis, and significant people skills are all put to use daily as she negotiates the sometimes competing demands of her dual role.
“Sarah had to hit the ground running with a whole series of promotion cases, faculty searches, grant proposals, and the many complexities involved in running the chair's office,” said Carlo Tomasi, Chair. “She has been doing so admirably, with a proactive, tactful, skilled, and resourceful approach to what she does. Her kindness and sense of humor brightens the day, and makes all visitors feel welcome from their first approach.”
When she’s not outside Carlo’s office, you can find Sarah volunteering as a narrator at the North Carolina Library for the Blind or consulting on popular culture acquisitions for the Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America. And if you really want to make her day, write to her in French!
