Staff News - CS Welcomes Michelle R-Judd

In February Michelle R-Judd joined the Department as a Grants Assistant. Her efforts in this new position add much needed capacity in the Department’s research administration office, especially in the post-award area.

Michelle joins us after gaining invaluable experience with Duke Corporate Payroll Services and the Materials Management Services Department at Duke Hospital. “I knew she’d be right for the job when she told me she just loved numbers,” said Jewel Wheeler, Administrative Manager. “Though new to grants admin, Michelle’s got the right analytical and detail-oriented skill set to be a great success in this demanding field.”

Attending Mount Olive College in the evenings, Michelle is pursuing a degree in Business Administration. Between college at night and learning a new field at work during the day, Michelle agrees that it’s like being in school all day. Luckily, that makes her happy.
