Brittany Fasy

Grad Student

I am interested in computational topology and geometry, and currently, am looking at the geometric and topological properties of Gaussian mixture models. I came into Computer Science from an interest in mathematics and have found a very supportive environment at Duke. Students are encouraged to work with each other (in classes and in research). This is really one of the best things about the Duke CS department and it makes taking tough classes more enjoyable.

After I finish, I would like to find a post-doc or a teaching position. When I'm not working on my research, I play lacrosse (for the Vienna Cherokees, the Austrian national team, and the Carolina Heat), run, and do yoga. Outside of sports, I like to express my creativity by sewing.
