I am working with professor Shivnath Babu in the area of big data processing to develop automated techniques for selecting the best system to perform the analytics component of a given data-cycle workload. Generally, in a data cycle, a large volume of data generated continuously by a serving system has to be processed by an analytics system; and the result has to be written back to the serving system in a timely fashion.
I went into Computer Science because I just didn't feel that anything else would fit me or allow as much enjoyment in a job. I think CS is the force that can drive our evolution. It offers humanity the tools to evaluate, analyze and make decisions that can help the entire world. I owe a lot to my high-school Informatics teacher who showed me that a woman can be smart and sciency, and also an accomplished mother and wife.
When I have time, I looooove reading literature (my fave book is The Possesed by Dostoevsky); I also love going to the mountains, hiking, and cooking.
