About Me

I am a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science at Duke University. I am working in areas of database systems and cloud computing advised by Professors Jun Yang and Shivnath Babu.

I grew up in Nanchang, a beautiful city in the southeast region of China. I obtained my bachelor's degree at Peking University in Beijing with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Economics.

Research Interest

I am interesting in various large scale data processing techniques that can handle big data. In cloud computing, we can ideally or potentially utilize endless computing resources to perform scalable processing tasks in a parallel fashion. However, besides traditional data processing challenges, we are facing new problems like heterogeneous cluster, machine failure and connection lost, as well as new constraints like network bandwidth and machine usage cost. I always strive to get involve the research that deal with these problems and make cloud computing more powerful.
