Directions to my office from RTP or the RDU airport: Head north/west on SR 147, the "Durham Freeway". It heads north from I-40 right around Research Triangle Park. It goes through downtown Durham (ballpark, etc.), then turns west toward Duke. 1. Ignore all signs for Duke. Instead, follow the blue signs for the hospital trauma center. 2. Take the exit for Fulton Street and head left off the exit, onto Fulton Street. 3. Get in the right lane of Fulton Street. Follow Fulton for a few blocks until it T-bones at Erwin Road; the hospital is directly in front of you across the intersection. Take a right onto Erwin. 4. Get in the left lane on Erwin. In a few hundred yards, take your second "real" left onto Research Drive leading onto the Duke campus. 5. IF YOU RESERVED A CS PARKING PASS: go through the traffic circle at Lasalle. There is an ugly brick building on your right (called the North Building). Just past it, make a right onto a small alley called "LSRC drive" between North and the white LSRC building, where the CS department is. 6. If you don't have your pass yet, just pull over and run down the stairs into the ground floor of the D-wing LSRC (CS department). Staff will give you your pass (e.g., Gail Smith in D128). 7. Once you have your pass, continue along the LSRC Drive to the gated lot. You may have to dial the CS department (6500) to buzz the gate up. Park in your assigned spot. 8. If you DON'T have a pass: make a right at the traffic circle onto Lasalle, then a left on Moreene, then a left on Science Drive. That takes you to a pay parking lot and parking garage at the Bryan Center. This lot is called PG-IV: http://maps.duke.edu/parking/1 (You can see the top of the LSRC on the left at the end of the road, so you will just walk down the stairs to it after you park.) 9. Walk along the LSRC building toward its left (N) end, closest to Research Drive. That is the D wing. The inside stairs are on the NE corner of the building. I am on the third floor in D306.
