The purpose of this assignment is to make sure you know how to send email and create a web page. Every Duke student is given an account on the Public Unix Clusters. If you are a new student, the account login id and password should have been mailed to you. If you have been here awhile and don't know your login or password, you can get this by visiting the Office of Information Technology (OIT) on the first floor of the North Building. The book "Introduction to the Public Unix Clusters at Duke", which is available at the Gothic bookstore and on the web, explains how to login and send mail.

Part 1: Creating a Web page

Your homepage must be created as follows:

• For this assignment your web page must be named cps6.html and the page/file must be located in your public_html directory.
• The web page must contain the following information.
• the title: CPS 6 Fall 1999
• your name
• your interests
• your programming experience

Part 2: Sending Email

Your message MUST HAVE THE SUBJECT: CPS 6: ASSIGN 1: (your name here)

Your FIRST and LAST name must be on the subject line (no nicknames!).

For example, Prof. Ramm would send his message with the subject line

               CPS 6: ASSIGN 1: Dietolf Ramm
