15 Minutes Before Net:

This is (your call-sign), the Orange County ARES Net and Pager Test will start at 9:30 am. If you need to make any calls please do so now.

5 Minutes Before Net:

This is (your call-sign), the Orange County ARES net will begin in 5 minutes with an automated pager test, not under the control of this operator. If you have an urgent call to make please do so now.

This net meets every Saturday, at 9:30 am, through the courtesy of the Orange County Radio Amateurs. This ARES net uses the W4UNC 442.150 MHz repeater, accessed with a PL tone of 131.8 Hz. All amateurs are welcome to use this open repeater when it is not occupied by a scheduled net.

The purpose of this net is to train licensed radio amateurs in procedures that may apply in actual emergencies, and to test the communications capabilities of Orange County ARES.

This is a directed net, when checking in give the net controls call-sign W4EZ, pause and listen briefly to avoid doubling , and then give your call-sign, your name and location. If you have an ARES pager, please indicate if it has responded to the test.

Informal discussions will be held after all stations are checked in, if you do not wish to take part in these discussions, please request permission to secure when you check in.
