Teaching

Since undergrad I had the chance to teach in student led programming workshops offered at ITESM, I led courses on Visual Basic, C++, Java (C++ for Java Developers, ITESM, Mexico City; Visual Basic Workshop,ITESM, Mexico City, CB0860 ITESM: Guest Lecture Java RMI) and Software Usability, I also had the chance to perform a guest lecture at the Advanced Operating Systems Course taught by Professor Barbaro Ferro. I also taught courses about Java Enterprise and Crystal Reports (Crystal Enterprise Workshop,SIIE, Mexico City)for industry while working for a Crystal Decisions partner, and about Web Application Frameworks and Software Engineering while working at Softtek.

During grad school I have TAed and guest lectured at CPS 110 (Undergraduate Operating Systems) for my advisor Landon Cox. CPS110: Operating Systems (TA)

I still have the slides for some of the workshops I taught, they are quite old and not relevant anymore (and in Spanish on top of that) but they are available anyway.

Industry

Before joining grad school, I worked as a software architect for Softtek. There I participated in the design and evaluation of the architecture for many large web applications at the Mexican Social Security Institute, I also developed reusable components for that platform. I still enjoy reading about software engineering and web application development, and fortunately everynow and then I have the opportunity to apply some of that experience to my research.
