I have been on the faculty of Computer Science at Duke since 2001. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley and my B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University. My research interests include computer science education, intelligent control and robotics, reinforcement learning, and social networks. For more information, please see my CV.

Fresh Projects

HarambeeNet: NSF CPATH project to bring educators together to design modules for an alternate introduction into computer science by studying the topics that arise from analyzing and modeling social networks.
Duke/Durham Public Schools Robotics Program: Burroughs-Wellcome Student Science Enrichment Program project that is centered around weekly after school meetings at Durham School of the Arts supplemented by Saturday science workshops and RoboCup Junior competitions.
Advancing Robotics for Social Impact: NSF BPC Alliance for collaborative education and research centered around robotics for healthcare, the arts, and entrepreneurship.
