Although I was born and raised in the Philippines, I am ethnically Chinese. I can speak Chinese, English and Filipino. After graduating from high school in the year 2000 , I spent a year in Ateneo de Manila University, arguably one of the top universities in the Philippines. Go Blue Eagles!
After a year, I transferred to the University of Southern California. I received my Bachelor of Science, Magna Cum Laude, in Computer Engineering and Computer Science in May 2004. After graduation, I went back to the Philippines to work for an IT company.
The following year, I decided to go back to USC for my Master's degree. While pursuing my graduate degree, I worked as a research assistant for Prof. Wei-Min Shen's CATALINA and Superbot project at the Polymorphic Robotics Laboratory. I received my Master of Science in Computer Science (Intelligent Robotics) in December 2006.
After receiving my M.S., I worked for Northrop Grumman Corp.'s Mission Systems located in Dominguez Hills, CA. In 2007, I accepted an offer to pursue Computer Science Ph.D at Duke University. This is where I am now, a 2nd year Computer Science Ph.D. student. My research interest lies in the field of distributed systems and autonomic computing. I am currently working with Prof. Jeff Chase and Prof. Shivnath Babu
