JHAVE (Java-Hosted Algorithm Visualization Environment) is a support environment for AV engines, giving them a drawing context on which it can render its pictures in any way. It provides ways to synch the displays with VCR-like controls, information/pseudocode windows, input generator, stop-and-think questions, and content generation tools. JHAVE allows for various AV systems to be run, and has aims to become a pedagogical tool to help fix some of the concerns that were voiced by participants in the surveys from Naps 2002.
