JFLAP continues to develop with additional algorithms and ways to use within a FLA course. New additions include building blocks for Turing machines, simulation with those building blocks, and name changing for all types of automata. Studies are taking place to evaluate the effectiveness of JFLAP, and JFLAP workshops have been held. The paper suggests that the integration of JFLAP into a class will make it hands-on, and greatly benefit the students.
