Title: Introduction to Projective Geometry Much of computer graphics deals with displaying objects in 3-space realistically onto a 2-dimensional screen. Projective geometry provides the theory for performing calculations such as rotations, translations, and scalings from arbitrary points of view. I will present an introduction to projective geometry. I will start with a brief history of the origins of projective geometry, in particular, it's relations to Renaissance painting. This will be followed by an intuitive explanation of projective geometry and the topology of the projective plane. Finally, I will give a formal algebraic description of projective geometry with some fundamental properties and theorems.
