Just for Fun
I used to play trumpet in the
Duke Wind Symphony
but I'm on the lookout for smaller chamber ensembles such as trumpet choirs and brass quintets.
Also, if anyone wants to start up a Ska band, come talk to me.
Before that, I used to play in the
bands of the University of Missouri-Rolla (UMR),
now known as the Missouri University of Science and Technology (MST). I was an officer of the
Delta Gamma chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi,
a band service fraternity. Sadly, Duke doesn't have a local chapter.
In the past, I studied many different martial arts. When I lived in St. Louis, I studied Tae Kwon Do at the
World Martial Arts Academy. In Rolla, I studied Kung Fu at the
Shaolin Lohan School of Kung Fu. I also studied epee fencing at UMR's
Fencing Club. In Kansas City, I studied Shingitai Jujitsu under world Sambo champion Steve Scott
at the Welcome Mat Judo Club.
Here in Durham, I'm studying I Liq Chuan under Ben Fisher.
