Greetings! You have found the home page of Thomas Narten. My day job is at IBM, where I work in a TCP/IP strategy group tracking emerging Internet technologies. At night, I moonlight as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Duke Computer Science Department.

My activities during the Fall 1996 Semester include:

• Teaching the graduate networks course (CPS 214).
• Serving as an IETF Area Director for the Internet Area (aka "herding cats").
• Working on Next-Generation IP (IPv6).
• Wondering if I'll ever again have time for my various hobbies.
