Future Directions in Data Structures Schedule
This schedule is flexible, we'll try to accomodate a range of interests
and I hope to be able to adjust things to some extent on the fly while
still being organized.
All workshop events will take place in the LSRC building, specifically
in the D-wing (which is the Computer Science Department wing).
Friday Evening
- 6:30 -- 9:30
Informal gathering in the Computer Science Dept with some
snacks and beverages.
Saturday
Introduction
In the morning we'll have two brief position-presentations to get things
rolling.
- 8:00 -- 8:45 coffee, pastries, mill around and talk
- 8:45 -- 9:00 discuss direction of workshop, introductions
- 9:00 -- 9:30
Michael Main
will speak about his views and
position for 15-20 minutes, followed by discussion
- 9:30 -- 10:00
Jacob Gore will speak about his
views and position followed by discussion.
Group Discussions
- 10:15 -- 12:00 Discussion in groups (8-10 people)
Lunch
Future Directions/Large Group Discussion
- 1:00 - 2:30 Discussion of smaller group discussions,
heated debate, stimulating discussions, movement to a higher level
of knowledge and wisdom.
- 2:45 -- 4:00 Reconvene smaller groups or cross-fertilize
with groups partially re-constituted.
- 4:15 -- 5:15 Meet in large group for final discussion,
setting agendas, future directions of future directions.
Reception/Dinner
- 6:30 - 7:00, Reception, Papa's Restaurant
- 7:00 - 8:00, Papa's Restaurant
