2007 Regional Contest Information

Regional competition is the first tier of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest. The Mid-Atlantic Region covers southern New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, and North Carolina. The top teams in the region will advance to the ACM World Finals will be held in Banff Springs, Alberta, April 6-10, 2008.

Contest Environment

The machines for the contest are PCs running Linux Centos operating system. The default window manager is Gnome. KDE is also available. After logging in, you will start up the PC2 system. Handouts will be provided.

Programming Languages for the contest are Java (JDK 6.0), C and C++.

We will provide an online link to the Java api and the C++ STL.

No IDEs, that is No Eclipse.

Directions from I-40

Take I-40 to 15-501 North towards Durham and Duke. When 15-501 splits, take the fork to Duke University. From 15-501, turn right onto Highway 751. Turn left at the first stoplight onto Erwin Road. Turn right on LaSalle St. See below about parking.

Directions from I-85

Take I-85 to 15-501 South (in the North West corner of Durham). Take the exit to Moreene Road. Turn left towards Duke. Turn left onto Erwin Road. Turn right on LaSalle St. See instructions below for parking.

PARKING

Once on Lassalle, you can park anywhere on the street, unless there is a handicapped sign or restricted 24 hours a day sign. If all the spots on the street are full, you can park at the meter spots in the parking lot or turn to the right and there are more spots on the street. Park and continue down Lasalle street the same direction. When you get to the stop sign, cross the street and turn to your left. The LSRC building is through the small parking lot on your right, the large building down the hill. Go down the stairs toward this building. The contest is in the left side of the building. Please check-in in B101, the large auditorium to the left when you come down the stairs from the parking lot.
